This season, Rodarte was supposedly inspired by the freedom to move — in one’s clothes, or throughout the country, incorporating elements of their own travels in the American West. The first half is flowy and patterned, and then at the end they sent out roughly 40 versions of the same dress in pale satin colors drawn from a sunset. I only pulled a couple of them because I think the experience of seeing them all come at you, and encircle you, is perhaps more effective than clicking the right arrow key over and over and OVER again. Though if you do that, I think you get enough of a sense just from the curated selection. Oh, but do prepare yourselves for some sheers. We will never be free of them.
