I used to REVEL in the Daytime Emmy Awards. Now I'm not even sure when they're happening, or if they're airing. But I'm glad soaps still exist enough to have them – I know they also cover talk shows and short-form programming like what Keke Palmer won for (something called Glam Through The Ages), but soaps were the bread and butter and should forever be. Thankfully, Beyond the Gates is doing well enough to not just beef up some of the categories, but win them. I wish they'd hung onto more of the soaps and done them seasonally instead – like, keep General Hospital year-round, if that works, but then split a second time slot between All My Children and One Life To Live, in chunks. IMAGINE the finales they would have concocted.
