Vogue itself says this event is a “fashion and performance extravaganza…The 2024 edition of Vogue World promised a rollicking stylish and energetic good time; conceived in collaboration with youth athletic academies throughout France and inspired by the history of sports and fashion.” I guess it’s basically a Mega Event Fashion Show; Amy Odell’s Substack, Back Row, defined it back in 2022 as “a fashion show as entertainment for the general public, versus most fashion shows that are tailored to an industry audience with garnishes of social media catnip.” I think Vogue needs to work on its messaging around this event still, but from what I can tell, this one was in Paris and had models pretending to fence. Fun! Let’s look at the celebs who came out to gawk. (I feel like a lot of them just happened to be in Paris already.)
