This collection has a lot of personality, but I wonder if it’ll prove to have too much of it to get traction at the Oscars — traditionally the stodgiest of the major award ceremonies. I certainly HOPE we’ll see some people splashing out, because those are the most fun risks, and we need SOMETHING unpredictable besides wondering what other decisions the Academy will make and then renege on in the next couple days.
