I’m not sure why Molly Ringwald specifically was chosen for this Samantha Bee “For Your Consideration” event, but she wrote an excellent essay on re-examining her John Hughes movies under the #MeToo microscope, so maybe that’s part of it. Of course, Molly did play a character named Sam in Sixteen Candles, so they are obviously already soul sisters. And they both look super in their sleek suits. I am wholly here for it if they want to take Bosses in Blazers on the road, and just… I don’t know, roam the U.S. verbally kicking ass and laying down the law, helping people choose awesome shoes in which to walk all over those who would try to keep them down, and otherwise emotionally pantsing anyone who deserves it.
