This is so interesting, per WWD:

For Maria Grazia Chiuri, staging her Dior cruise show in Rome was a gamble: she hadn’t presented a collection in her hometown in 10 years, ever since her Mirabilia Romae haute couture show as cocreative director of Valentino….Chiuri commissioned costume house Tirelli to reproduce some of its most famous creations, seen in films ranging from Luchino Visconti’s “The Leopard” to Martin Scorsese’s “The Age of Innocence.”

The whole thing was held at a private villa — we saw the front row yesterday — and seems, frankly, pretty dreamy. The NYT claims this is likely to be Chiuri’s last collection at the helm of Dior. What a way to go out!
