To coincide with her latest club banger, “Padam Padam,” Kylie announced that she’ll be doing a residency at The Venetian in Las Vegas. Now, I love Kylie, and “I’ll be in your head all weekend” is a very apt line for that song, but the press release says it’s a 1,000-seat cabaret-style space, and “Padam Padam” is so produced that you could convince me Kylie didn’t actually sing a note on it and that they built it out of A.I. Is Kylie going to get out there and belt it with her own pipes, as you’d expect with a cabaret situation? Or will it be like the Britney concerts? Not to pile on Britney, because I think we all knew what we were getting and why, but they absolutely did not have her sing a single note live and it was very weird and depressing. Like two hours of puppetry. I’ll be curious to see how it plays out for Kylie. Hopefully better than this dress, which looks like someone crafted a loose tribute to an owl out of a surplus of black pantyhose.
