This movie is not about any historical Civil War, in case you’re thinking, “didn’t she already do this?” (Yes, that’s The Beguiled.) THIS movie is about ” a team of journalists who travel across the United States during a rapidly escalating Second American Civil War, which has engulfed the entire nation,” which certainly could possibly become prophetic!!!!! Exciting. The gown feels mildly like Alice in Wonderland (sans apron) plus Amy March (one of Kiki’s greatest performances, and my own personal favorite Amy — no disrespect to FloPugh) and a dash of Wendy Darling. That’s quite a cocktail of famous fictional blondes. (I like it!)
