This is the first Kate Spade show designed by their new creative director, Nicola Glass, who used to be at Michael Kors, and (a) you can see the Kors DNA in it, which isn’t a bad thing (Michael Kors and Kate Spade share the same kind of chipper, preppy aesthetic), and (b) it’s very good, especially in comparison to last season, which was an off-brand mess.

Kate Spade herself, of course, hasn’t actually been involved in the line since 2006, but the brand rightly paid tribute to her:
