First of all, apparently there is a movie called The Nut Job 2, and I know I’ve been distracted by a lot of things lately, but somehow I missed that there was ever a The Nut Job 1? I assume it’s about the hijinks of an industrious and sassy cadre of squirrels? (Oh my god, I was right. IMDb tells me that, in the original film, “an incorrigibly self-serving exiled squirrel finds himself helping his former park brethren raid a nut store to survive, that is also the front for a human gang’s bank robbery.” Right right. Sure. That makes sense. Then this sequel — which is blessed with the full title The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature –  is as follows: “Following the events of the first film, Surly and his friends must stop Oakton City’s mayor from destroying their home to make way for a dysfunctional amusement park.” The first one is streaming on Amazon Prime and it has a pretty decent rating, but some of the reviews are amazing. My favorite: “The blank nothingness of my ceiling was comforting after witnessing this ‘movie.’ I would rather try to catch a wild squirrel than ever watch this horrible pile of wet garbage ever again. Find me in the alps! Anxiously awaiting the sequel.” Well, sir, your day has arrived!)

ANYWAY, this movie is real, and Isabela is playing “Heather,” who is — I assume — a squirrel who spends a lot of time rudely critiquing what other squirrels are wearing. This is a very cute little dress, and I was going to wonder if maybe it’s too twee, but she’s wearing it for the premiere of a kid’s movie about squirrels. Seems about right to me.
