Sharp Objects has already started airing on HBO — I think it’s even about halfway through, if not more? — and I always thought of TCAs as a time for the networks to promote either their new offerings, or new seasons of their old ones. But, whatever gets Amy Adams to your dog-and-pony-show, right? Especially when Game of Thrones is still distant (though they did discuss the spinoff in vague terms). Let’s see how this looks standing up — and, if you’re reading this and you’re seeing ads over the bottom of the Getty pics, that’s not coming from us; it’s from them. We can’t control those, and I’m so sorry about it, but you can close them by tapping the little X on the top right corner of the ad. Okay:

Amy’s Stella McCartney frock shares DNA with the more body-skimming one that Chloe Grace Moretz just wore. That version looked more, well, flammable — Jess put it best — than this flowy one. I prefer this one by far, and it looks quite nice on Amy, if also a bit like Stella turned someone’s photography project into a pattern. A HINT more lip color, maybe, is what I would prescribe?

In other news, Patricia Clarkson continues to be divine, here in Jonathan Simkhai. Her shoes are a version of these Malone Souliers mules, which might be the only way I would wear mules.

Here’s the whole fam. Every time I see Jean-Marc Vallée, I think it’s this dude from The Royals.

I am not someone who cares one bit about having a summer tan, or anything of its ilk, but… wow, Jennifer Garner has the perfect summer tan right now. That is some burnishing right there, but in a way where she looks perfect. She and Jenni Konner both look great. It’s intriguing to me that Camping is a Lena Dunham joint (along with Konner) but she wasn’t there, nor were any of the other co-stars besides Garner, and the list is good: David Tennant, Juliette Lewis, Ione Skye, Brett Gelman. Maybe they’re… saving them all for the inevitable PaleyFest situation near the October premiere? Who knows.

Jane looks super, even if I’m not inspired by her shoes. She was promoting her documentary, Jane Fonda In Five Acts, but also dropped the nugget that she, Lily, and Dolly are all planning to participate in a new 9 to 5. I would not accept it any other way.

Jessica Williams and Phoebe Robinson were there promoting their upcoming four 2 Dope Queens specials, which is how I learned that Jessica is also in Fantastic Beasts 2: Super ‘Depp’ressing. I like her blouse. I also took FOREVER to parse that Phoebe is wearing a furry sash; I thought for a moment Jessica had one hairy maroon sleeve and was wearing a mitten. I don’t know. It was a confusing time.

Riley, I believe, is in Paterno. Her entire outfit here is killing me. The jacket is too much with a skirt that’s also cut straight up the middle to her nethers, and I’m not feeling the braids, either. Sorry, girl. Since I’m clearly Elvis reincarnated (born the exact day he died), I guess this means her grandfather is tsking at her.
