It’s in the 60s here in Los Angeles today, but I’m emotionally in shorts season — possibly kicked off after I put together this post of vacation clothes last week. As I said somewhere here recently, I’ve put on a little perimenopause weight and a lot of my old shorts don’t fit well anymore, so I need to pick up some new ones for this upcoming spring and summer. The good news is that we have never had this many lengths of shorts available to us than we do right now; they are ALL over the place. I personally do not want to wear shorts that are this long but I can absolutely see how these might be chic on some people — and also, they might be a blessing for our tall friends! Whatever length of shorts you prefer — your time is now.
Boden has some really cute shorts right now, from these classic chinos to these objectively wacky terry cloth ones that I fear I will not be able to resist. I also like these linen ones, which also come in this amazing retro print. Banana also has a very reasonable pair of shorts that I’ve put in my shopping cart like four times before remembering that I have the version of these from last year in black, and they still fit just fine. (But I love the olive color!) I like how polished these are.
