I feel like Jessica Lange’s character on American Horror Story is what Ryan Murphy is trying to recreate, comically, with Ellen Barkin on The New Normal, with much less successful results. Of course, Jessica Lange’s character is really just a VERY veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery cracked out Sue Silvester, so I guess this is really just the Circle of Life, right? Something like that.
