We loved this on the runway, and we love it now. There is something delightfully appropriate to me about wearing a cape to a Mary Poppins event — although Mary did not really wear a cape, per se, she certainly seems like a woman who might have owned a sensible cloak, and the cloak is a cousin to a cape, is it not? In fact, this particular frock almost feels as if Mary’s mythical sensible cloak and magical every-day carpetbag had a baby, and while everyone was a little surprised at how GLAM that baby turned out, they wrote it off to a jolly holiday and enjoyed the overall effect.
