Listen, frankly, this is exactly what I imagine Elton John wearing to a restaurant in Los Angeles in 1987 — although perhaps in my imaginings, it had a bit more sparkle. He looks like he belongs to a very saucy yacht club/secret society. (Instead, he was allegedly going to a restaurant called Nicky Blair’s, which from what I understand was a sort of OOC late 80s singles scene frequented by old rich dudes, young women, celebs, and mobsters, but which was also right next door to Le Dome, which was REALLY famous, and which Elton co-owned. Was he checking out the neighbors? This outfit is not great if you’re going undercover!)
