So….this is kind of amazing, right? It’s dramatic, costume-y, and deeply retro — this could be a shot from a gala in 1963 that you come across in the middle of a book about a famous actress’s life and loves and losses; this photo would have been snapped at the event where she, mourning the loss of her beloved parrot Carrot Cake, met the man she’d go on to marry three times and eventually push off a bridge — and it’s very unexpected from Elle. I like this new Elle.
