The last time we saw Cynthia, she had a dress with a see-through back, and it made our worst list. No fear of that here: This is a much better deployment of transparency, for one thing, and it’s also just cheery and brimming with personality. It would work as well if it all ended where the underskirt does, but it’s busy and loud enough — in a good way — that I don’t notice the see-through bit until I force my eyes to stop and focus. Otherwise it all washes over me as a pleasant and bright bit of warmth, which everyone at the Golden Globes may want to cue up on their phones on Sunday because it’s going to be a high of 60 degrees (supposedly) and they’re going to want a little heat where they can get it.
