Although I’ve generally really enjoyed Saint Laurent the last few seasons – this collection is so good -- this look comes from Resort 2026, a collection that was incredibly heavy on 1980s’ tap pants worn as actual clothing and which I thought at the time would not translate AT ALL to the real world. Indeed, she looks like the member of a Broadway chorus who had to run outside the theatre before fully changing out of her costume. From the waist up, this is truly Reasonable Cold Weather Casual Wear. From the bottom down, she’s about to go on stage in a cursed revival of 42nd Street.
