Chanel’s runway shows aren’t very sartorially thrilling to me. I gather this line was inspired by a convent in which Coco Chanel spent some formative years, and is definitely a break from how frenetically styled and overburdened Karl’s later work could be, but there is a limit to how much of the line’s signature tweedy aesthetic I can digest. We know the likes of K.Stew and Margot Robbie and Penelope Cruz will end up in some of this, though, so onward we go.
