I just wanted to kick this off with a piano picture of Carey Mulligan with her spouse, Marcus Mumford, who looks very proud of her being made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE). I hope she holds this over his head.
I did some investigation and those ARE indeed very balloon-y trousers, which I actually love. (You can see them better here.) We should embrace the Weird Pant. Letting go of the need for pants to be flattering when they can, instead, be kooky, is very freeing. This entire look, actually, feels so 1980s to me: Don’t you feel like this could believably be the photo of a particularly beloved 1984 social studies teacher who did something that really pleased the Queen? Delightful.
