In writing this post, I realized Caitriona Balfe is no longer working with her longtime stylist, Karla Welch, and is now being styled by Nicky Yates, whose (arguably) most famous long-term client is Felicity Jones but who also works with Naomi Ackie and did Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas’s entire awards season. Best I can tell, this break-up happened six months ago. This doesn’t necessarily mean anything — Welch and Balfe did great work together and I think sometimes celebs just want to mix it up, like changing hair stylists after a bit. (They say you should change hair stylists every seven years, to keep things fresh.) It’s just a data point. Other data points: This entire Dries Van Noten collection was, to me, a delight, and she looks great here in an outfit that would sound INSANE if you tried to describe it to someone.
