It’s not that I think this look is INAPPROPRIATE for a screening of Captain Marvel. It’s a superhero movie; she didn’t wear it to the premiere of a documentary about genocide. Having said that, I DO think it looks like an outfit she bought for a Studio 54-themed birthday party that got canceled when the yacht it was to be held on sank under mysterious circumstances, and she’s just been dying to find an excuse to give it some air.
