Margot Robbie and her stylist, Andrew Mukamal, have been doing yeoman’s work evoking vintage Barbie outfits for her press tour — which may be long, as we’re still two weeks away from this movie coming out in the States. The actors extended their negotiations with the studios until July 12, and if no new contract is agreed upon before that, they’ll likely strike (unless they’re super close and they extend again). I do think people are blowing it out early, just in case. Regardless, Margot seems to be having a kitschy blast, and I suspect part of that is because she’s not beholden to her Chanel contract and can spread her wings and LIVE DAMMIT LIVE.

I admit, the first thing I thought when I saw these pictures was: Anya Taylor-Joy must be dying. This whole vibe is EXTREMELY her energy — she’s already essentially done a version of this — and she has to be wondering how the universe allowed this one to pass her by.

Margot is so committed that she’s even doing airports in this vein, as with this Chanel:

And here, in a less Barbie but still very very pink Gucci:

She is also getting a LOT of work out of these pink open-toed heels — I assume they custom-made several pairs in a variety of hues:

I HAVE to assume she changed into kicks before she boarded? You do NOT want your bare feet coming into contact with… well, anything on a plane, but especially those bathrooms. Or an errant beverage cart, although I’m sure Margot had a window seat.

But I cannot imagine this person, in this outfit, flew commercial. Not great for the planet’s health, but certainly nicer for her toes.
