It was country music’s Night of Nights on Wednesday, and blue was the hottest (coolest?) color of the night. So much so that Kelsea Ballerini and Mackenzie Porter wore the same dress. Whoops. Although I’m sure they were both cool about it, but this seems very much NOT ideal — unless the “all press is good press” mantra kicks in here. I don’t know the logistics enough, but if you’re a company like Balenciaga, and you’ve been getting placements all over town in the last year, you probably have a pretty solid team doing this work. Wouldn’t you all be aware of which dresses are going out, and maybe make sure that the blue one being sent to two different blond ladies who work in the same industry is not going to the same exact party? Is there not some sort of Murder Board that could help organize this visually? The stylists are working in a vacuum, so really, it ends up making the brand look bad — or at least lazy. And might make a stylist less likely to call them as often.
