Ashley and her Emily in Paris character were both dating the same physical human; Ashley and the actor have since broken up, and I wonder if her character and HIS character will follow suit (or if they did first, and it made it hard to stay together). Either way, if it’s a bittersweet press tour for her for that reason, I hope she continues to medicate herself with colors and coats and badass boots. She does it so well. The loud blouse is a kick, and the massive jacket with the ’80s shoulders is like a David Byrne homage, which works because the bottom half of the outfit is sleek boots and not gigantic billowing pants. (I dug around for a shot of her getting out of her car, and you can see she’s got on shorts that match the coat. There ARE bottoms. Just not ENORMOUS ones.)
And this coat even LOOKS kind of like a phoenix rising from the ashes. You’ve already risen, pal! You’re doing great! Keep rising.
