The other day in Drinks With Broads, I said that Ana’s role in Ballerina, the John Wick spin-off, was “a part that, with all due respect to all concerned, would have probably gone to Kate Beckinsale ten years ago.” I did not realize, when I wrote that, how right I was, given that it was apparently directed by Kate’s ex-husband, Len Wiseman, pictured with her here. This is all neither here nor there, except I’m pleased with myself for how well I clocked that vibe. Speaking of vibes, this one says, “I want to look nice and reasonable and like I’m taking this professionally and seriously but I’m not totally blowing it out. Please consider asking me about Tom Cruise….maybe? I’ll be coy, but we’ll both get a story out of it.”
