Tom Cruise is sweating HARD to promote this thing. We’ll see if it works. If it fails, I suspect — fair or not — that it’ll fall on him more than it does Alejandro González Iñárritu. His last film, Bardo, False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths, was not widely beloved either but it’ll take more than these two to land him in Director Jail, whereas I think Tom Cruise only gets a couple major swings at an Oscar.
