Hi Sadie! Welcome to the Spider-Man fold. They hadn’t activated her for any of the press before this, maybe because they were just trying to squeeze in some stuff with T and Z before The Odyssey and save their larger budget for after. Who knows. But she’s on duty now. She may wish she were NOT, given that her stylist put her in white hooves and a droopy Margiela nightgown, but her head looks fantastic and that’s her business card anyway. There’s time to improve from here, although I also feel like I’ve been saying that for years about her outfits and things remain rocky.
I keep forgetting that this is Zendaya’s third big press tour in a row, out of FOUR this year (at least for her sake, Dune doesn’t come out until December). Hopefully she can stash the high-concept stuff for a while. This Vetements look is fantastic on her:
This is the one Sharon Stone just wore down the runway (and when we covered it, we didn’t realize the slideshow had not attached properly until WAY late, oops, it’s there now), and which Law said was chosen in relation to Spider-Man villain Mr. Negative — who is not, as of this writing, known to be part of the movie but maybe it’s a hint, or just a reach into the general Marvel universe. I don’t typically like the red eye makeup, because it looks like she got soap in there during her shower, but here it feels apt because it comes across like she has evil ocular lasers. Which his perfect for a supervillain, even if they don’t belong to THAT supervillain.
Whither Tom, you ask? I would never withhold:
As has become the usual on these tours, I both think he looks fine AND am not completely sure I’m sold on the look. The two reds both look better than I expected, and also still… not great. How’s THAT for a decisive opinion? However, I am definitely biased, as I just saw a clip in which he earnestly refers to Zendaya as “the North Star of [his] life,” and I just want them to remain happy and unbothered forever.
Jon Bernthal plays the Punisher in the movie:
And his pants ARE punishing.
Also, someone please let this dog go home! Is it his? Is he in the movie? He’s so tired! He is how I assume Zendaya and Tom feel, although they at least probably get some outstanding hotel suites in which to recuperate. Perhaps this Very Good Dog can go hang out with them.
