I’m hugely relieved to report that this man still knows his way around some outerwear!
Per the label’s press release:
For Fall/Winter 2026, Sergio Hudson unveiled a collection marking ten years in business, staged at the iconic New York Public Library.
This season was anchored in drama: the drama of ten years, the drama of glamour, the drama of opera. Inspired by the grandeur of legendary Black opera singers, including Leontyne Price, and by the power of Aretha Franklin’s operatic performances, the collection explored heightened femininity and unapologetic spectacle.
Hudson revisited the brand’s core signatures: precisely tailored stretch suiting, American sportswear, and commanding silhouettes. Texture was central to the collection. Traditional suiting was complemented by mohair, cashmere, suede, and embossed croc. Snakeskin-embossed leather appeared in separates, including a yellow collarless jacket paired with a lace-up pencil skirt. Evening silhouettes included a silk charmeuse draped skirt in raspberry paired with a teal bustier adorned with dangling jewel embroideries, as well as a black column gown with white tulle cascading down the back.
“We were going for the drama, the glamour, the emotion, the spectacle. I wanted to honor every era of the brand while still designing what feels necessary for the woman today.” – Sergio Hudson
I wish everyone would send out their show notes! It adds so much to viewing the collection; the clothes of course have to stand on their own if you’re going to buy and wear them, but it’s unfailingly interesting.
