Sydney Sweeney’s bob is either “bold,” “SHOCKING,” or “dramatic,” or just “new,” depending on which headline you read about it. (Page Six was the one most scandalized.) Really, it’s just shorter, and blonder. She didn’t pull an Anne Shirley or anything. It’s a haircut. She got one. It’s fine! If not, it’ll grow, either in time or immediately with the help of extensions. But it did two things: One, generated a LOT of content for her hairstylist and the presumably promotional use of Kerastase, and two, gave her movie Christy some attention it was maybe struggling to get in advance of its Nov. 7 premiere (she’s been at it for a while, and yet I personally keep forgetting it’s a thing). Of course, I’m sure she also hoped it would look good, and it does. I’m not sure it matches the vibe of the Miu Miu, though — something slicked back would have been better with something this princessy, perhaps? Sydney has been giving interviews about how much muscle she put on to play a boxer, and how many pants sizes she went up, so this gown probably serves the purpose of contrasting her current physique so that people can see the Transformation and the Acting and all that. It’s definitely a nice dress on her, but I can’t help thinking the same point could’ve been made with a bit less, saving this for something slightly bigger.
