This dress is by Lela Rose, and I really like it. It’s right smack-dab in the middle of her wheelhouse — she, like Viola Davis, has gotten to a point in her life where she knows what looks good on her, and she wears it — but the pattern is fresh and she looks relaxed and fabulous.  She is great at hitting that perfect point where she doesn’t ever seem nervous but she also never acts like she doesn’t give a shit. (I love her in general; I interviewed her once and she was just the greatest. I mean, also, Elaine Benes is my patronus in all ways, so. Get out! is what I’m saying.)

(Her speech was also great, and very emotional, if you’re wondering. You can read it here.)
