Tommy x Zendaya was a two-season pact, I gather, and that’s a shame because Hilfiger as a brand has more of a pulse right now thanks to her. The first show she spearheaded was a love letter to women of color, and this one also boasted an exuberant and diverse runway laid out at the famous Apollo Theater in Harlem. The final runway, which I saw a clip of on Instagram, was set to Curtis Mayfield’s “Move On Up,” which is an inspired pick, and if you’ve liked any of what Zendaya wore recently then you’ll love this because it’s all FROM this collection. She seems like an enormously thoughtful young woman, and I think her two shows for Tommy demonstrate that she’s not simply someone who gets an opportunity to put her name on something and phones in the results.

A note, per usual: Because fashion shows are such big posts, we tend not to put captions on all of the photos, although sometimes we will pick a celebrity for a given outfit. But if there aren’t captions at all, it’s probably not a mistake.
