Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel have done a LOT of things since Wicked, and had done plenty before — Cheno had already won a Tony for You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, and Idina was nominated for Rent — but it’s very possible these are the two roles that will follow them the longest. Okay, and maybe Frozen for Idina, but that was her voice, not her face. Anyhoo, here they are at the big bash, with Kristin looking like a cross between the two characters — froof for Glinda, green for Elphaba — and Idina somehow projecting Elevated Grey Gardens. It’s the black turtleneck under the statement coat. And the tired expression. It’s too bad these two are the same age, because I would be down for a revamped Grey Gardens musical starring them both. Perhaps one as Big Edie throughout, and one as Little Edie in act two? Or maybe they can do it and split the Big Edie part and win a JOINT Tony, to make up for the fact that only one of them could win for Wicked. Think on it, ladies.
