I wonder if it’s a harder time to be in the 15 Percent Pledge business right now — the concept is, if Black people make up 15 percent of our population, then stores can earmark 15 percent of shelf space to Black-owned businesses, but of course now the government has told the world not to give a shit about diversity. This is one instance where throwing a party MAY indeed lend some visibility to the work, and honoring Ms. Tina Knowles is a good place to start.
