Per their press release about this issue, T&C wrote, “For Town & Country’s 180th Anniversary, the September 2026 issue celebrates the people, places and traditions that have defined American culture and helped shape the brand across generations through four ‘Iconic American Duos,’ featuring Martha Stewart & Karl-Anthony Towns, Taylor Sheridan & the West, Anna Sui & Chase Sui Wonders, and Cornelia Guest & Ivy Getty.” I surmise that no human person wanted to deal with Taylor Sheridan — or, more likely, he would not share the spotlight — and thus he’s been paired with a geographic location. (He’s also the only person who didn’t do the rapid fire Q&A format of the rest of the interviews.)
Having said that, these covers are good, and honestly, the interviews are also enjoyable and/or illuminating reads in various different ways; it won’t surprise you to hear that Martha in particular is a hoot. (Apparently, she steals shower caps.) Once again, T&C remains one of the few magazines I am excited to get in my mailbox and read on a plane.
