It’s been a long one, and with very little about which to get thrilled: Summer movies left almost no imprint, and some of them — Logan Lucky, I’m looking at you — forewent formal premieres almost everywhere, to make a point about marketing that ultimately was blunted by its lousy box office. Everyone has been staying inside refreshing Twitter and arguing with strangers on Facebook. Or at least, that’s how it felt: Lest we forget, Summer 2017 did deliver some real red-carpet eyesores, and as we head into its waning days, let’s fire up a montage. Score it to whatever song will stir your soul. I’m going with the Xanadu soundtrack, obviously.
