Presumably, DC wants to try and give itself a cinematic universe similar to what Marvel built. But even Margot Robbie’s popular Harley Quinn and Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman haven’t managed to overcome too many — to me — lackluster leads and films. Presumably they hope landing Dwayne Johnson will change that. Black Adam paints him as a bad guy of sorts, which is not his usual M.O. apart from a few times The Rock turned heel in his wrestling days. Here’s the preview:
