The Fantastic Four is a quad of superheroes that bedevil me anytime I’m playing New York mag’s Cinematrix (or its original version, Movie Grid, which I usually play in addition to but which I am now playing instead because I THINK there is still a digital picket line?), because there have been several versions and I can never remember which version of the title matches what — much like how there is Suicide Squad and The Suicide Squad and there are a couple people in both but not ALL people?
So if it helps: Inputting simply Fantastic Four should cover BOTH the 2005 film starring Jessica Alba and Chris Evans — but in a pinch, use the sequel by typing in the words Silver Surfer — and the 2015 version with Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan, and Jamie Bell, though it is sometimes styled as FANT4STIC. Guessing The Fantastic Four covers the 1993 Roger Corman version, although I cannot imagine any of those actors turning up on Cinematrix, and should bring up this new one, whose full title is The Fantastic Four: First Steps. So many versions, so few of them actually well-regarded! We’ll see if this one can turn things around. Pedro Pascal is a good start, but I have such superhero fatigue that even he might not be enough.
