I suppose this isn’t truly a candid shot, as Juliette Binoche clearly fully knows she will be photographed coming out of the Cannes airport. Nonetheless, we don’t get many Celebs Leaving The Airport shots in Los Angeles anymore, so this is scratching a particular itch of a) what do famous people fly in, and b) what do famous people want us to THINK they fly in, but they actually changed somewhere secret before being papped. This Tory Burch ensemble feels like the former category — polished but practical and realistic. For me this is extra timely because it’s making me want a pair of penny loafers, and fortunately, I just ordered one from Madewell. Black, not the classic burgundy Juliette has here (and I would have gotten the black-and-white but they were out of my size), but thematically it’s the same. I doubt my ability to look truly chic in them, as she does, but it’s always a fun surprise to see something even remotely attainable in a celebrity photo — AND then realize one of the ingredients is winging its way to me already. Somebody please stop me from shopping for trenchcoats.
