I learned from the Vogue write-up of this collection that the pre-fall ensembles are supposed to be considered the more wearable, as compared with the standard runway shows. Somehow I hadn’t managed to put my finger on that difference, but it does make sense — especially when you consider this collection and then the getup Cate Blanchett just wore, which was off the catwalk. I actually really like this whole thing? Sure, there are a couple duds — I feel like Sadie Sink is going to get the last dress and I won’t love that for her — but if I’m not mistaken, we saw Slide 38 on Letitia Wright already, and there’s a beautiful companion piece right after that. The one on slide 40 is a starry dream, and there’s a crisp skirt and cable-knit top that’s nice (slide 17), some crisply deployed grommets (like slide 21), and Slide 3 ought to show up someone pronto if it hasn’t already. I have some thoughts here but am curious to hear yours.
