At first these looked like inside-out pockets, but from the side, it seems to be a huge ruffle in the general pocket area, like two-thirds of a scrunchie tacked to her hips. There is something very 1920s about this that I really appreciate — it’s appealing to see a silhouette that isn’t predictable but also isn’t totally weird — but I can also imagine a lot of people making potato sack jokes about this one.
