Last weekend, we had some green buds pushing up in the front flowerbeds. This weekend, there are full-on purple flowers blooming. Life starts anew, right on the year anniversary of when our schools shut down and our lives moved inside a bubble. There’s something beautiful and bittersweet about that, and so it is apt, at the first major red carpet in so very long, that so many attendees picked pastels — typically associated with spring — or full-on flowers, or butterflies. Everyone is ready to bloom and begin again.
