The New York Pops threw a 42nd birthday bash for itself, and I was confused for a second how Sofia Carson landed on the guest list — not that she can’t sing; I just don’t typically associate her with New York musical galas — and then I read that it was a tribute to Diane Warren, and Sofia collaborated with her on 2023’s Oscar-nominated “Applause” (which Sofia performed). She seemed pretty excited on Instagram to be performing at Carnegie Hall, and who can blame her? Plus, she is never NOT doing the absolute most.
