The Globes hand out lifetime awards for both film and TV, and this year, they went to Dame Helen and the erstwhile Carrie Bradshaw — which is so interesting to me, given that SJP’s recent work is three seasons of a universally reviled (well, except among them) reboot of Sex and the City that ruined most of the characters and did absolutely nothing good for her legacy. I’m not saying I think SHE allowed money to change hands for this, but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone on her team pulled a few financial strings to try and remind people that it used to be so good.
