Daniel Roseberry said this of the new collection, per W: “I’m so tired of everyone constantly equating modernity with simplicity: Can’t the new also be extravagant? Has our fixation on what looks or feels modern become a limitation? Has it cost us our imagination?” It’s a nice point, but this collection feels less wild and imaginative than some of his past work, as if his show notes are writing a check the catwalk couldn’t cash. That isn’t to say things like slide 3 (not pictured above) aren’t striking, but when you say the word EXTRAVAGANT, then this DOES feel limited by comparison.
