Scarlett Johansson missed the premiere of The Phoenecian Scheme because she was hosting the season finale of SNL, but zipped over to Cannes to support her directorial debut, Eleanor the Great. On that front, Variety seems to think June Squibb is amazing — I have no trouble believing that — but that the movie itself is not. But honestly, whatever keeps June Squibb in a leading role is fine by me. The woman is 95 and killing the game.
