I was very confused this past weekend when I saw a preview for this season of The Rings of Power at a showing of Deadpool + Wolverine because I thought, for a long stretch of it, that it was a MOVIE preview, given that I was AT the movies, and not an ad for an Amazon show. “They’re remaking LORD OF THE RINGS?!?!?!” I thought, shoving popcorn into my mouth. “That seems INSANE. Aren’t people up in arms about this??” Well, no and no because it’s a TV show, Grandma, and it’s in its second season. (In my defense, I do think it’s weird to advertise a TV show when you’re at the movies but there were a full 45 minutes of previews before that thing; as far as I know I also saw a preview for my next hair appointment.) Then, it all kinda came back to me. And by “it all,” I meant that I vaguely remembered knowing about this, primarily because this show is costing Amazon an absolute fortune and no one knows if it’s actually a good investment. Anyway! Here’s some of the more interesting looks from the season two premiere in London.
