Early buzz on Project Hail Mary is good, and I enjoyed the trailer, which leans heavily on Ryan Gosling doing all the things Ryan Gosling does well. The only problem is that I’ve been seeing previews for this movie since, I think, last summer in front of the new Superman, to the point where I’d convinced myself it already came out and I missed it. I am glad I didn’t! Anyhoo, Ryan’s stripes somehow coordinate rather than compete; I love this on him and I’m so pleased that he CLEARLY heard my SOUL CRIES for some stripes and went into his stylist and said, “The blogger has spoken.” Yes. That’s definitely how it went down.

She looks like a Madame Alexander doll. I do wish we had another shot at the top of this, though. The horizontal seam doesn’t do much for it, and I think you could cut the sleeves near their shoulder seam and make them cap-style. But also, imagine just the belt and skirt with a crisp white collared shirt on top, and it’s sublime.
