The other day, Zendaya wore that great blazer with the kill-a-man boots, and I thought maybe this was a sign she might get to walk back the INTENSE gowns and go a little more edgy-chic. Silly me! It was, in the end, just a photocall. For a fan event in Mexico City, and on what I assume was not NOT a warm day given that it’s July, she busted out an Ashi Studio gown and some spiky bangs. It seems way too spoilery of them to be tipping that MJ, in the Brand New Day universe, has secret villainous tendencies — but mayne? Certainly, between this and the laser-eye effect from Monday, it makes me WANT her to play a sexy bad guy. Even the design itself looks like she’s being taken over by whatever that gooey black symbiote was from Spider-Man 3. Like creeping evil. And there is no reason at all to wear those sleeves unless you plan to raise your arms over your head and cackle, preferably while attempting to strike someone with lightning. Since she’s obviously not going to zap Tom Holland back to the Stone Age, let’s at least harness the vibes. Maybe a Challengers 2 could include witchcraft?
