We haven’t seen Nafessa much since Black Lightning ended, but that hopefully will change soon because she’s currently shooting I Wanna Dance With Somebody, the a Whitney Houston biopic. Nafessa plays Whitney’s best friend Robyn — alongside, among many others, Stanley Tucci as Clive Davis. (Because of course. He’s well-cast, but I also firmly believe there’s a rule in Hollywood that Stanley Tucci must at least be invited to participate in everything.) I hope the promotion and publicity for this will start well before its projected release of next December, so that she can spend the better part of a year delighting us with confusing outfits.
